Treatment Philosophy and Focus
The belief that guides my therapeutic style is that every person has the capacity to adapt, heal, and grow. I use a combination of goal-oriented work that helps you take tangible steps toward creating the life you want. I also help you work with your internal emotional system, connecting with and learning to accept yourself.
Training and Experience
I have training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II). For the last five years, I have provided counseling in a variety of settings, from outpatient medical clinics, to community-based intensive-in home services, to private practice. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill, with a focus on clinical practice. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about my training or experience.
